I’m the Chinese mom featured in the first 3 seconds. Blink and you might just miss my coveted side profile! It was my first time working with any kind of children, much less a baby. But luckily, the baby’s real-life dad was my fake husband so that was convenient. By the way, it’s almost exactly the same as the American version of “We’ll Always” except it’s a soccer game instead of baseball and the learning word is “water” in Chinese instead of “lion” in English. Oh, and the people portrayed are Asian. Obviously! This is my first SAG commercial booking.

On Sunday (Jan. 29, 2011), I did an all-day photo shoot with Jordan Warren who I would describe as a young Kevin Bacon or American version of Britain’s Prince Harry. Vince Ngo was the photographer and he used a Canon 5D Mark II with various lenses. My day started off at 1100 with make-up and hair by Bang Trinh. Then I arrived at Vince’s studio around 1300. We warmed up with some indoor studio shots while waiting for the sun to set lower in the sky before heading out for outdoor shots. I borrowed one of my mother’s Chinese modern-day qipao which was a gorgeous purple velvet skin-tight dress with a dashing silver floral design in front. Here’s the ethnic shot. The boys took shots of Crown Royal to set the “celebratory” mood we were seeking, but I refrained. After all, I didn’t want to be sporting some Asian glow for the pictures…and I never felt quite comfortable drinking alcohol before the sun set

Just after 1500 we headed out to the Getty Center. Jordan and Vince had never been there before so they were in for a real treat. Like I’ve been telling everyone, I don’t care too much for the art at the Getty, but I absolutely love the architecture and gardens. I have spent an entire afternoon in the garden, just reflecting on life and other serious matters. At the Getty, we went for a fun atmosphere – a young couple clearly in love with each other. And maybe feeling a little frisky? The shot that says “Let’s go somewhere else.”

Once the sun set, we grabbed some dinner in Culver City before heading out to the Walt Disney Concert Hall. We arrived in downtown around 1930. Bellies satisfied and spirits renewed, we literally just walked around the Disney Hall and found some cool spots to shoot. The sweeping grand exteriors inspired Vince to go for a “power couple” attitude – so like an executive who’s in a position to call the shots and who’s got the money to get things done. I think Vince had just said “as if you two are Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie” and immediately he captured this “power couple” shot. But it’s not all about money and success, this intimate shot captures the desire to have someone special to share your life with.

My overall favorite shot was this one and for two reasons: (1) The “soft candlelight” lighting was created by a row of 2 feet high water fountains by the Getty tram stop. The light looked really pretty against the wall so I suggested we pose there. So I can take full credit for it! (2) This could totally be a still from a movie….maybe  my next romantic comedy?

On Sunday, I hung out with my first co-stars Jay Kristopher and David Scott. I call them my “first co-stars” because I worked with them on my first IMDB credit: “L.A. Hit”. I never got the chance to see the finished movie so I’m really glad I re-connected with them because I got a clip out of it!

I shot this scene in February 2007 so it’s literally from four years ago.

I finally booked and worked on my first print job! It was for OnRequest Images. So I didn’t know this..but for print jobs, they call the talent “models” not “actors”. Nothing wrong with that

No actual modeling shots to share yet, but I did take some of my own photos on my Power Shot. And Alan got this shot of me showing my “co-workers” my cool Android smartphone (which is actually mine).

Brr! Today was a cold day to be fighting barefoot in a bikini by the ocean. I also am sporting some lovely red and green  bruises along my shins because I did my own stunts and I happen to bruise really easily…like a ripe peach! Since this was the first time I did any sort of fighting, I now have a great deal of respect for stunt actors and body doubles. Jim Towns assembled his crew and cast to shoot some scenes for his first episode of “Blood Brotherhood”. I play a Chinese secret agent who learns Korean to get a hold of key information from a Korean man. I can speak Korean! (well, about 5 lines worth)

I took some photos when I wasn’t on camera. Then when I got home, I took a photo of my lovely “Christmas lights” right leg. It’s all on Facebook.

We shot this cute comedic short film at Whiteman Airport in Pacoima, California. Film is currently in post so check out its facebook page. And fingers crossed that it will be accepted to a festival!

Synopsis: When the owner of Happy Fliers School of Aeronautical Knowledge faces bankruptcy, he concocts schemes to save the school. One scheme, his Top Gun Training brings in a madcap group of characters that drive Jay Mie, the real flight instructor bananas.
